Nicole Klein Chief Creative

Nicole is creative. We call her “Chief” because she's earned it. She left traditional “brick and mortar” ad firm life and gave birth to Mind of Klein. It was a bold move for her to make, but it was the right one. True “creatives” are motivated by the opportunity to leave their mark - to create a unique and emotional experience for clients and customers. Typical ad agencies are most interested in meeting revenue goals to cover exorbitant overhead costs and salaries. She saw the economy changing, and trusted her instincts.

Nicole has over a decade of extensive experience in leading branding, print and interactive design campaigns. Her client list is impressive. She's worked with HGTV, 3M, Allianz, Nature Valley and Miller Brewing just to name a few. Her book of work exemplifies her passion for the tactile experience of design on paper, as well as her expertise in the ever-changing opportunities interactive and social marketing present. Thinking outside of the box is her specialty. When a client realizes that messages can live beyond traditional print and interactive, the sky is the limit.

Christiaan Engstrom President

Christiaan asks a lot of questions - to just about anyone, anywhere. He's never afraid to immerse himself in learning. He believes that by truly understanding the 3 “M's” - the Motivations, Methods and Mission of other people - he will be able to better connect and grow the relationships he cares most about.

That's why we like him on our team. He reaches out to clients and connects. He's proven his ability to grow organizations in his past roles of Marketing Director, Operations Manager and Retail Marketing Manager for world-class companies including Purina, Ford Motor Company and The Toro Company. He's doing it again at Mind of Klein.

Don't let his nice-guy approach fool you, however. He's a competitor who likes to deliver under pressure. Christiaan became a card-holding Associated Press member at the age of 16, working as reporter under deadline. His aspirations led him to the University of Minnesota where he was a member of the Golden Gopher Baseball Team while studying Business and Journalism. Christiaan went back to achieve his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the U of M in 2008.

Brian Artka Web Guru

It seems like everyone has a friend, or a friend of a friend, or a family member that can build a website. It's a “hot hobby” to have right now. But what really goes into a website? Is it just a URL and a bunch of pretty images? Does a hobbyist have the insight to bring a business owner's goals and vision to fruition? The business world is changing, and evolving web strategies are driving the economic change. In many ways, websites are becoming organizational reception desks for customers who are becoming more and more accustomed to a different type of experience. Brian is one of the people driving the new economy. And he's no hobbyist.

Now that we've put the interactive fear of God into you, we'd just like to say that Brian is probably our most interesting team member. He's extremely bright, motivated and cool. He has a track record of seamlessly building bridges for companies to migrate their traditional branding efforts to an online presence for nearly a decade. Over that time period, he has diligently worked to keep up with the changing landscape of the web - because it changes everyday. Brian is a seasoned front-end web developer and also has extensive digital filmmaking experience.
